Hot, hot heat Silver coast at your feet Dunes stretched out to the horizon Shipwrecked here With no plans to meet Painted dusty white horses Like that song that I use to sing My first karaoke Your dreams never turn, the way you think they will Or maybe you just didn't notice Hotel Landifornia I really do adore you But Hotel Landifornia Don't think I can afford ya Sounded so paradise to me The girl struck down in her own weather I know, I know, I know you can't give me everything But I'll try and ride your waves if you let me Your pines, your pines will let me breathe again And I, and I, and I will give you what I can To love, to love, to love your lovely land Your land, your land, your Landifornia Hotel Landifornia I really do adore you But Hotel Landifornia Don't think I can afford you Hotel Landifornia Hotel Landifornia Hotel Landifornia Please let me stay Please let me stay Will you let me stay? Oh please let me stay

Salt Sisters 02:50
Not really sure I can do this Vitamin D Will you talk to me? I'll take you daily If the sun don't shine Marzipan pills Will you cure my ills? Make me happy like no other kind ECG oh I play with ease What does it mean? Oh so many things Big black dog On the waiting room chair I'm so scared of your white coat care! Salt Sisters in the morning Dancing in the kitchen On a Friday night We're Salt Sisters And they're warning Yes doctor, doctor I will do what's right Soeur de sel You don't play too well I wrote this song So you could play along Mama, ma! Mama, ma! You're way too far Two thousand miles Down the telephone Salt Sisters So what do I do? When I can't get through? I'll sit and cry, Take another pill Salt Sisters in the morning Dancing in the kitchen On a Friday night We're Salt Sisters And they're warning Hey doctor, doctor I will do what's right Salt Sisters in the morning Dancing in the kitchen On a Friday night We're Salt Sisters And they're warning Yes doctor, doctor I will do what's right Soeurs de sel Medicament Tu es si loin Que puis je faire

Reeling like a cassette tape from 1992 Drinking like a pirate, 'Cause my plans have fallen through She told me not to worry But I couldn't let it go Endlessly regretting The fame I didn't know So be my pirate I'll be, yours too Be my paradise We'll do what we really wanna do Dressed like Sgt. Pepper She looked so mighty fine I said let's build a cabin Somewhere out near the pines We'll be buccaneers Wind blown mutineers Let's quit this modern rubbish Go back two hundred years Be my pirate I'll be, yours too Be my paradise Do what we really wanna do Scrapbook jeans Torn for me Lovely skin The colour of coffee Your chocolate eyes So wide, so wide Who'd ever thought You'd be my type So we know treasure island Is just a fantasy But shipwrecked with the sun and you Is all I think I need The beauty's in the driftwood, the sand, waves, the pine (the wine, oh the wine!) You've sold it to me baby Let's go back to simpler times Be my pirate I'll be, yours too Be my paradise Do what we really wanna do Be my pirate I'll be, yours too Be my paradise Do what we really wanna do Do what we really wanna do We'll do what we really wanna do

Bleached 04:08
Whitewash Oh lighten up You're washed up Done worn out No use, you sad maroon Poisoning us all too soon What is drastic, but the plastic in my arteries We're so fantastic, that we ruin what we started I feel the leather at the end of my tether And I'm falling in between the growing cracks Between the weather, oh what the weather? Bleached You and me Bleached You and me What is white It's colourless It's skeleton It's emptiness As coral lies In monochrome Us rubbish humans Dive alone What is drastic, but the plastic in my arteries We're so fantastic, that we ruin what we started I feel the leather at the end of my tether And I'm falling in between the growing cracks Between the weather, oh what the weather? Bleached, Bleached We've reached Bleached Qu'est ce que le blanc C'est incolore C'est un squelette C'est la vide As coral lies In monochrome Rubbish humans Dive alone What is white It's colourless It's skeleton It's emptiness

Lady Malaise 04:03
There was a girl Such a quiet girl Alone by the sea Alone she would be No one would see her For their minds were closed Beyond what is known Beyond what is known Lady Malaise Don't turn away Remember the things That the good ones say There was a girl Such a brilliant girl Smarter than most But now just a ghost How they didn't know She looked them Straight in the eye When the pain it was near She stood with no fear Lady Malaise Don't turn away Remember the things That the good ones say Oh Lady Malaise, Lady You'll be ok Cause you know that things Will always pass away Femme de l'ombre A secret unseen Fighting was she So that we could be free Now they pass her by With not even a glance But they would cease to exist If she hadn't resisted Lady Malaise Don't turn away Remember the things That the good ones say Oh Lady Malaise

Ma Rainey's in the garden I think she's just surviving And there's no woodpecker today Below the trees are breaking The pavements we've been making And there's no woodpecker today Oh man I feel like an iceberg Breaking cold and I'm shaking down Oh somebody stop this taking, making money madness I ca take anymore, no, no, no! They say the world's a changin' But we're still misbehavin' And still no woodpecker today We keep on going faster Spinning to disaster And still no woodpecker today Oh man I feel like an iceberg Shaking cold and I'm breaking down Oh somebody stop this taking, making money madness I can't take anymore, no, no, no! The cracks are getting wider We need to hold on tighter And still no woodpecker today You'd think a certain outbreak Would slow us down for fuzz sake! But still no woodpecker today Oh man I feel like an iceberg Breaking cold and I'm shaking now Oh somebody stop this taking, making money madness I can't take anymore, no, no, no! The same with the policing Violence is increasing And still no woodpecker today They're stopping our protesting So what will be the next thing And still no woodpecker today Oh man I feel like an iceberg Breaking cold and I'm shaking down Oh somebody stop this taking, making money madness I can't take anymore, no, no, no! I guess we've gone too far now The world's a broken heart now But at least I saw a woodpecker today, yeah!

about

THE GREAT FUZZY ESCAPE CONTINUES...
A recent refugee of Brexit, I found myself in a new land, navigating my way into a new life, with very limited French language skills! Now understanding more about what it means to be an immigrant. (I have massive respect for the brave peeps who are in this world).

Inspired by the beautiful silver coast of Landes in south west France, a place I call Hotel Landifornia. I want to take you on my journey through the ups and downs of new beginnings, fighting mental health issues, love, freedom, reflections on climate change, equality, the pandemic and a little politics of course - all with humour and a very fuzzy view on things.

This is an Indie Alt-Pop record with big vocals, lush harmonies, eclectic vibes, a little French, and a mix of electro, funk and acoustic sounds, plus some experimental vocal collages (Lady Malaise).

I offer you the title tune, Hotel Landifornia as a soundtrack to the summer.

released August 6, 2021

This album was written, recorded and mixed by me Fuzzy Jones, on my sofa-studio, somewhere in south west France - with one microphone, a cardboard vocal booth, some waves, a lot of love and time. With some special help from Ableton Live and some lovely long distance friends from Yorkshire, UK.

It's totally DIY except for She Is Matador, which was recorded and mixed by the fabulous Richard Sabey at The Woolpack Studios, Otley, Yorkshire, UK - just before I escaped over the broken border!

Special thanks to the remote collaborations from the mighty Tom Clegg on Salt Sisters and Hairdresser Psychotherapist.

And a big thanks to my awesome Sisterhood grrrrls Miranda Arieh, Astraluna, Fran Wyburn for their backing vocals on Hairdresser Psychotherapist and drums, bass, piano and bvs on She Is Matador. We might be far apart, but always together in music!

Plus thanks to the little Basque pony Sophie Michelena for her spoken word on She Is Matador and for all her love and support.

You're all ace - I love you!
